hunger eyes

we were told to hide our asking eyes.keep them concealed in layers of lies.to never ask for things we wanted to have.to always keep our hearts from falling from our mouths..we learnt to do without.to bring to life the taste of our imaginary lusts ,fresh in the realm of our minds.we created the splash and lush of fun, imbibed in the luxury of flying passing seconds wrapped in the daydreaming of our eyes.smelled in the scent of our wants, exhaled in every scent of what our tomorrows might look like if we worked hard enough to buy ourselves the teasers of our lusts .though our mouths remained dry, like parching desserts under a scorching famine sun,we kept the meeting of our lips wet, even when we thirsted,we kept our lips wet.even then,we draw out the teachings, the ones we learnt from the striking of a belt if learning from the stern voices that rumbled before wasn't enough,if we slipped into dark pits unbeknownst to our sights,we lit our little brains with mother and grandmother and great grandmother's sight.we learnt never to accept things from people who might need them more than us.we learnt the art of keeping our hearts from falling out.
